Back Glass Warranty

Hey fella's! This is an off-the-wall question. I've been tinting for a few yrs. and consider myself better than avg. but I've never had to do a back glass warranty job. I.ve taken old purple film off of cars to re-tint and have seen the dark orange defrost lines turn to bright orange in areas where they stuck to the old tint. What if you did a warranty say 6 mos. later. Would you get the same results? Or do some of you have certain methods of back glass tint removal that prevents this? I'd sho hate to have to buy a new back glass just to cover a warranty because of defrost lines. But if I'm offering L/time on my high-end film I'd like to do it w/out worry. :mad

Against my better judgement, I'm going to reply. How long have you been tinting?

Have you read this page? http://www.tintdude.com/remove.html

If I was doing a 6 month old warranty job, I'd be looking for a new film company.

How do you know what average is? And why are you better than average?

By the way, lifetime warrantys are for suckers. They are not realistic at all.

I do the sweat method...that is the best if it is old tint...has to be really hot outside though...if not ..I use my heat gun to heat the film..and peal at the same time....or a steamer...... :mad

:mad TD is right. the lifetime warranties are strictly for the consumers to feel good about their purchase. still don't understand why customers spend $200 on a tint job and expect a lifetime warranty, but pay $35,000 for a car and ACCEPT a 3 year warranty. :evileye

My bad TD! I meant better than avg. for my area. I treat every car as if it were my own due to pride in my work. To most shops here it's only about the next $. I've tinted for about 5 yrs. My ?'s not so much about warranty than pulling off the defrost lines. I've seen the removal section and it's pretty much the same as mine. But like I said, I've never had to do warranty but I'd feel better if I knew other methods of this area because "If it can it will". I just didn't know if the problem with the defrost lines peeling off was due to cheap film or what, every time I've re-tinted a car it had cheap or purple film, all the same to me. I know there's alot of jack-off newbies who come here for some chat fun but I've recently got back into this business and am trying to keep up with the changes that have been made since. I love this site and have learned alot of new stuff here. It's business to me and I won't ever ask you guys a total BS question. I guess what I'm trying to say is I think most of you are way better than avg. by some of the solutions you have. That's why I'm here!

I ain't got nuttin but love 4 ya TD! You and this site have saved my butt alot here in the past few days. I just know you get alot of smart asses from some of the questions and I don't want to sound like any of them. I was self taught with the help of a Johnson's video a few yrs. back and I don't know anyone else personally that tints so I've adopted you guys as my family so I can stay on top!

Alright! Protecting an interest? A site designed to help a man out with his way of life! I think TD is saying, "hey dude, I think you're legit." Maybe it was a stupid question. Maybe we should start a site for every tinter that knows everything and then discuss :mad nobody knows nothing about so then we don't have to apologize for questions concerning what we do for a living. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to know we're all macho and heartless but GD, let folks ask when they need help!
