C6 Corvette dot matrix vinyl fix
I can confirm Dotrix comes out clean, we've done a few in the past like this. Other vinyl, we've never tried so don't know. However, we just did one yesterday with XPEL CS and it laid down perfectly. We were shocked and the customer loved it. So maybe the film itself plays a role. -

Use this if you don't want a blade on the glass, which I recommend. -

C6 Corvette dot matrix vinyl fix
Vinyl will look just about the same if it's on the inside. I wouldn't want to risk scratching the glass cutting out the film against the dots. If you think you have to do something, you might contour some oracal 651, 751 or 951 on the outside from the dot line to the top of the glass moulding. You should be able to find a 10'x24" piece on amazon or ebay. -

C6 Corvette dot matrix vinyl fix
You know, once the film has dried out somewhat, you may be able to push the film down over the dots and make it look more consistent. I think that would look much better than a half baked attempt to add vinyl into the equation. -

C6 Corvette dot matrix vinyl fix
Had the back window of my vette tinted, and unsurprisingly it is not laying down well over the dot matrix. Shop that did the install does not carry vinyl, so I am planning on buying some and having them cut the tint on the matrix out and vinyl it instead. Seeing a lot on dotrix, but the cheapest roll of 50 feet is $150+. Is there any other vinyl that would work as good? Saw some suggest oracal. -

Security film - commercial with gaskets?
So can you tell me where that "post in General just before yours" is, or what member posted it so I can read it for myself? Just trying to get all the info first before quoting the job - I did hear before, from a factory rep, that putting the sealant into the gap, and then re-installing the gaskets is not the right way; but I remember him saying that it's only because if the glass was ever broken and replaced, it would be nigh unto impossible to get all the 995 out and the whole frame would have to be replaced.- Security film

Johnson Window Films - Palisade. Anyone have experience with this film?
Did you end up using Johnsons? I have installed a good amount of Johnsons and I have palisades 45 on my house. I really like the film and it does what I needed it to do. It allows a good amount of Visible Light to pass through and at the same time has a good exterior reflectivity creating daytime privacy in a light shade. Blocks about half the heat and all the UV. -
