We are truly blessed

Recommended Posts

I had an opportunity to visit an underdeveloped part of the Dominion Republic to roam amongst the villagers for a week. I've been in poor areas , but truly this was something. families living 1 room leaky shack that were old ,run down with no windows and sometimes not even a door, no plumbing/electricity, appliances of any sort. Only the bare minimum to get by on.

Too much too type, this excursion changed me personally and gave me a deeper appreciation for how lucky all of us are to have even the basics that we take for granted as well as a deeper appreciation for the simple things in life as these people have. :gasp

I have a few pics, but not of the poverty I speak of ..felt too guilty to take pictures of that part + pics can't do it justice .

I'm wiped out going to grab some sleep as I've been up for over 30 hrs.

Great to be back :cool

Tomorrow I'll post a few highlights of the trip with a pic or 2 without trying to bore ya :lol

In other words You missed TV pretty bad huh :cool J/K Yea even going across the border into Mexico (and I'm really not trying to cut down anyone from there) gives me a wake up call. It makes you realize how much like "McKenzie" we all are. It kind of sucks because in reality sometimes it all depends on where in the world you were born.

I agree we are spoiled rotten and don't even know it. Its amazing how fortunate we are and don't have to worry about simple things like clean water.

Glad you had a good and safe trip :cool

Yeah perceived wealth is a funny thing.

I feel rich because I live in a land where I have an opportunity to live out my life based on my choices I make and have a good family and am healthy enough to work t omake a decent living.

Now I feel I have too much after what I have seen :lol

On the other hand other , others could visit me and shake their head at me owning old vehicles and not having a mansion and buying my clothes from Wal - fart and saying ..he's not rich at all. :cool

I guess it's all frame of mind and living withing your means ,yet always reaching a bit further for growth (you'll have to pardon my behavior for the next while ..I started a bit of a personal "journey" that I didn't intend on taking :lol )
