Llumar vs. Vista

The company I work for is a Vista dealer, and we also sell Llumar, although not nearly as much... so I don't really know a lot about the llumar. But, I'm going on my own and I'll be dealing with Llumar so I was wondering what are the differences between the two brands of film. I know they are both made by CPFilms, and from what the information on the sample shows they do the same things. (As far as heat/light/uv rejection)

One of the guys I work with said that the Vista film has a scuff-guard on the top.. and I don't know how true this is, but my boss says that Vista has a lifetime warrenty whereas llumar does not.

Thanks

I only install flat glass. I don't really do much with auto except if they need me to remove old tint or something.

Vista is the upper line from llumar..it has the highest uv rejection of all films made. It has 99.9% It is also the first window film endorsed by the skin cancer foundation. Others have followed but Vista is first. It comes in Dual Reflectives and has 4 products competing in the high performance Spectrally Selective films. You will not be selling this film just starting out..Most Vista dealers I know are exclusive with Vista and only sell llumar if they need a 50% bronze or some r-20 for a skylight application. I sell a butt load of v-28 in the dual reflective line and in the nuets I sell v-45 and v-58..V-70 is a great film it's 12.00 sq ft .

That would be install price, not cost of the materials... right?

Vista is somewhat more pricey to purchase than LLumar.

LLumar does have a couple (2, maybe 3) of flat glass films that can compete with Vista, except with warranty of seal failure or glass breakage.

It really boils down to what the consumer is looking for in their film purchase and how good you are at selling your company, your skills and lastly, the product you represent. There are those who can sell against Vista all day long and there are those with Vista who can only sell because of the film's unique constructions.

If you are going out on your own and competing directly with the person you have worked for, be prepared for a tough hoe, however, perseverence always leads to success.

Good luck, :lol

Yeah I know.. which is fine. I just wanna know the differences for when I'm asked by a customer.

As for competing with my boss, I don't think that's going to be as big of a deal.. Mainly because I know what he does to get customers and who he targets... So while I'm sure paths will cross at times, I don't see it happening very often.

Dang.. guess I can't edit a message.. I ment to add this as a side note...

On Thur we tinting this guys house - 200 sq. ft give or take.. in R15. No joke.

Talk about being dark.. But he loved it. The only other house I've ever tinted in a dark film was using V28 on everything... For the longest time that house was then refered to as to The Batcave.. Now this one takes the title. LOL
