I tint older cars sometimes 1970-80's. sometimes I have trouble with what seems like possible chemical residue on the windows. I use baby shampoo with water now, but do I need to pre-clean the windows with something stronger first? What do you guys use? :eyebrows

I DO USE A RAZOR WHEN I CLEAN WINDOWS BUT I'LL TRY DIRT OFF ALSO. I GET EM' CLEAN OF DUST, DIRT ETC.. BUT MAYBE NOT CHEMICAL RESIDUE FROM SMOKERS, ETC... DIRT OFF WILL WORK FOR THAT? I TRIED WINDEX, SEEMS LIKE I COULD DO BETTER WITH SOMETHING ELSE. :eyebrows

sometimes I'll use Sprayaway glass cleaner...or whatever I have in a can... :thumb

spray it on the glass first...let the cleaner do its job... cut patterns.....prep glass as-normal. lay tint.

seems to work pretty well.

I use sprayaway on almost every window plus soapy mixture and razor blade and then squeegie. Maybe I dont need the sprayaway everytime but that is how I have been doing it

if its close to 10 years old, I like to spray the back glass with sprayaway glass cleaner and white scrubbie the shiz out of it. Then after that repeat but use dirt off.
