Unusual tint questions

Hi, I am a custom computer builder and need your advice on a case I'm doing for a client. The case is lexan, and the idea is to have an internal lighting system that will make the internals visible when on, but look like a mirrored surface when off. Will the mirrored auto tint I find at the local shops give me this effect? If not, what do I need to use? Any advice on proper installation of it? I stopped here in my search for tint several hours ago, and have quite enjoyed reading your forums.

Excellent, thanks for the affirmation. Any particular brands I should look for? As for the adhesion, it will ultimately be sandwiched between another etched piece of lexan, and the conditions in one of my cases are far from harsh. What if I layered more than one mirror tint, will it reduce the clarity?

1 layer should work well, brands, I can sell you some , I have the perfect mirror film for you,easy to work with.

What kind of a cooling system are you using in the 'puter? One of the problems you might run up against using film is the reflection of the heat back into the system. Don't wanna tick off the processor, etc. Make sure you have a really good cooling sys.

Normally a case is made out of metal. So I don't think that should be a problem. If it's a custom case with a light show and tint.....it should have a case fan or two.

Falling off isn't the problem with film on lexan. It's outgassing that cases bubbles that can be the problem. But it's hit or miss and doesn't seem to have much rhyme or reason to it.
