kats2112
saw a thread in horror stories about a cracked 1/4 glass. well, today I did a new dodge crew cab. Laminated door glasses! noticed it as I passed the torch along the back edge. I was at a glass shop at the time, and the manager said there are e few new models w/ lami and there are not yet replacement glasses available. look at the tags in the corners to be sure before you get the heat going too much!!! Ryker
shouldn't need that much heat on any of the laminated door glasses. Lot of new cars are doing them though.....been posted before with many listed. shouldn't even need to heat the window. IF a door needs shrink I have been pulling the film off on the top and shrinking more of a large "pocket" with the heat never even getting close to the window. If done right the film will lay down perfect and not need any additional heat inside.

TintWizard
Laminated door glasses! noticed it as I passed the torch along the back edge. The words laminated and torch just spell disaster. A torch just have too much concentrated heat compared to heatgun on low with a quick pass if needed IMO

If your trying to cut time down that much to save $$ your probly in the wrong business. I dont mean to come off as an a-hole, but seriosly..... the heat gun gets plenty hot! ESPECIALLY on a door glass......
