There is a ferry that will take you out to Ft Jefferson in the Dry Tortugas for the day. Definately worth the trip. Really and truly, there is just not that much to do there except drink and spend money on souveniers!! ( although there are some great restaraunts!!) Try and take a day to go up the keys. There is the Dolphin research center north of marathon on Grassy Key. Marathon itself is a neat place. Great fishing! :beer

If you just have the day, check out the lighthouse on whitehead st. Hemmingway house is a good place. Wilma pretty much took out a bunch of good places to eat The No Name Pub on No Name Key (Big Pine Key) has the best pizza in the keys (IF you can find it!) The Cracked Conch in Marathon is really good too.

In Key West proper, Runaground Harveys at the City docks has good food and atmoshere.

Ya gotta try a grilled dolphin sandwich (Mahi, not flipper!) Cracked conch, and conch fritters are great.

Businesses open and close at an alarming rate down there. I was there in Dec. after Wilma and about didn't recognize Duval St.!!! What ever you do, you'll have fun!! Where else are ya going?

all I can do is stare longingly into the water :thumb

It'll still be great, though!
