On my next tint a plan on glueing the dot matrix. I believe a clear type glue with an applicator at the end seems best.

It it better to apply the glue to the dots themselves or to the film??

When you hard card the dots, does most of the glue come out?? and just leave behind a small amount or what??

Just so I know I am going about things the right way

Thanks

the glue should level out the dots, ie no air pockets, it should dry clear, and ALWAYS to the glass not the film. :mad

that was quick - thanks.

Will there be much residue??

Silly question - I better have a crack at it myself.

ND,

I'm only replying because your Avatar (user pic) cracks me up every time I see it and is worthy of note.

I don't know if they sell Elmer's Blue School Gel in your neck of the woods but that would be your best bet because it has a squeezeable bottle with a pointed tip that can be used to apply a uniform bead or line of glue accross the bottom of the matrix.

The clear glue with the applicator that you mentioned does not work well and is quite sloppy and inconsistent.

Good luck.

I ALWAYS apply the glue to the film....I pretty much finish the window, then peel the film down from the matrix and apply a bead of glue to the film at the closest point to the window (at the bottom of the matrix). Then card the film up as I spread the glue. Works well for me. :thumb

Just a quick question, but do water-based glues like elmer's keep them looking right? should I just paint my dots before I get my tint? or what?
