Hey guys,

Tinted 2 Kias today third one coming in. The last one the back door glass was done in 5% Midnight Charcoal.

The first door was fine but as soon as I started sqeegeeing the other door it started flaking under the squeegee. Any ideas why it would do this. The rest of the roll was fine before that. Never had that happen before. :evileye

Scratch coat not fully cured during manufacturing.

I've seen SR coating fail on a particular brand after being installed for years but have never seen this on new film being installed.

yep sounds defective to me. I have seen that happen to film 10 years old, but never right out of the box :evileye

Sounds like sungard is gonna buy some film back, eh?

Never had that happen when film was new, I've seen another well known brand do that frequently when it was a few years old. I'd say its call tag time. Also, to second the opinion above, the performance series films are only a little more per car, and they are so much better. Nobody likes purples tint, just gives us all a bad name. I use the Dessert and Performx lines, have had good luck with them.

Yes I know it turns purple but it's for showroom cars for my KIA dealership and they wanted something cheap and that's what they got and they know it. Usually I use Performx bronze or steel. As far as Sungard goes they are sending me a brand new roll of tint. It's never happened before but I just discontinued dyed tint, cheap price or not.... For the differnce in price ona roll I want quality not low prices.

thanks guys. :rollin
