My little guy got hurt on the job

Today I was in the process of rearranging my "estimate car" that I keep all my window covering samples in, and after I had pulled all my stuff out, Brian needed my help to convert a file of a logo over to a cut file for flexi. Walked away from the reorganizing job and went over the computer. Brian was tinting a truck in the other bay. Our 2 youngest kids, 3 and 2, climbed into the back of the car, (an Isuzu Trooper, they have never ridden in it so are fascinated with it, as it is used solely for estimates, completely full of samples, no room for any passengers usually). They were jumping around in it, being foolish in the back and somehow the littlest one either got pushed or fell out. I heard a loud crack when his head hit the floor. Blood all over the place, it stopped bleeding after a while, we really couldn't tell how bad it was, he has (had) beautiful long blond curls, and we couldn't tell what was going on. I held him for several hours, to make sure he didn't go to sleep, watching for signs of concussion. He was fine, after a while he was drawing and playing, soon he wasup and about being his usual little self. Got him home, put him in the shower to get the caked blood out of his hair, realized it was pretty bad. Kicking myself for not putting ice on it, but I don't think he would have let me anyway. We had to cut all the beautiful curls off and shave a 3" x 2" section of hair around the wound. He has a v gash, about an inch one way and an inch the other way, skin is separated about a little more than an 1/8 of an inch. Have all kinds of herbs on it to keep it from getting infected and help it heal quicker, also mininize scarring, hope his hair grows in the scarred area ok. Poor little baby is asleep now, with a big old bandage wrapped around his head. Feel so bad for the little guy, and he looks so much different without his pretty hair. Not sure which is worse, no more hair or a big old gash. Well, I know which is really worse, but still. Wanted him to keep his little curls till he was closer to 3. But, at least he's generally fine. That was our excitement for the day. Hope you all had better things happen in your neck of the woods.

Poor little guy, nothing worse than one of your kids getting hurt. I remember when my boy was 2 he was playing in the garage with my tool box and I went inside for 30 seconds and he comes walking in crying holding his finger with blood running down his hand. I forgot I had some large utility type olfa blades in the box.Man did I feel bad and my wife was'nt real happy with me either.

oh man I know the feeling. last week my 5 year old came in the house screaming with his hands over his mouth, I instantly saw blood all over his hands, it was all over the place, his arms, shirt, shorts.....he was playing tag with 2 other little boys down the street, he tripped and fell and hit his nose on the damn curb....I felt so sorry for him, he ran the whole way black home bleeding like a stuck pig :coffee scared the wholy hell out of me :lol

Should be Okay TB.

I'd take him to the doctor anyway so he can get stiched up right.

That'll minimize the scarring. Hair won't grow on the scar.

Hope everything works out fine.

:lol6 It hurts us when they get hurt. Glad he's alright. :lol

Mine was playing in a "tent" the kids had made out of blankets in her room when she was about 4 and one corner of the blanket held up by a pottery vase. Somebody pulled too hard having fun and it came down on her little head. She came in to tell me rubbing her head but she was not crying...and blood was trickling down her little face. It was in her hairline on her forhead. I was fine at that point but didn't want to alarm her. When I told her she was bleeding a little bit that we needed to get a rag and clean up the mess (really to see how bad it was)and put some ice on it. She went to look in the mirror. THEN she starts screaming. :thumb oh NOW it hurts? So we went to get stiches and I was still fine. But when the ER doctor went to numb it with the needle before the stiches...I felt dizzy and nearly blacked out. :lol6 Funny how I was fine up to that point.

This child was stung buy a wasp and refused to cry in front of the people standing around when it happened. I was the same way.
