back rolling on flat glass...

How do you all back roll on windows where the top is a point or for some other reason narrower than the bottom? In other words, do you go bottom/up, or use a different technique,

Any help is much appreciated. :lol6

ditto..sideways :lol6 ...for the odd shapes make your cut 1-2 inches over and roll it up start the peel and shazamm its on before you know it..I leave the liner on until it is all on the glass if possible, just get the film on the glass first dont worry about getting it out of the way-you could create a problem if you stop the roll to fug with the liner..

Never thought to try it sideways. Of course the last arch I did was 17 ft high. the window was 92 x 71. I don't think sideway would have been an otion for that one. I usally reverse roll. Drop it down and use my hands and head to fix the top of the arch. But I will try the sideway method next time. Thanks.

we go sideways for arch and circle tops that are wider than they are tall and the same for big traps and other shapes these architects are dreaming up. I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with the 1-2 " bigger :lol6 been there and done that.

Do you guys make a pattern for circle windows? we tried it and it sure made it easier on top of the ladder not having to fight the excess film.

I just did 4 of the half moons 2 weeks ago that were 95x67.5 sideways on all of em..the only way to do it just like in a back seat...but when they are that big I pull about 1/3 off and stick it on then I roll the rest its just easy that way for me...and I too was 17' up on the top of my little giant with both foot stands on the second to the top step looked like I was on stiltz or however you spell it..I felt lke a fuging circus act

:lol6 I hear ya on the circus act reddot seems like we get 2 or 3 a month that the area below the window to small for scaffolding and we end up building bridges an shiot out of extension ladders an planks. Freaking sklights in stairwells are fun too.

I just did 2 panes up 17 feet on monday that were triangles 63X72, I always use a 12 foot ladder whenever possible. I had a helper next to me on an 8 footer that pulled the liner off and sprayed the film. I'm use to having a helper so I'm spoiled.
