DID ONE OF THESE YESTERDY , HAD A SLIGHT FINGER THAT KEPT COMING UP ON ME ON ONE OF THE SIDE REAR WINDOWS. I WENT TO APPLY A LITTLE HEAT FROM THE OUTSIDE TO GET IT TO STICK BETTER..NOT EVEN FOR 10 SECONDS DID I HAVE IT NEAR THE GLASS WHEN I NOTICED HOW THE RUBBER MOLDING WAS MELTING AWAY...REALLY CHEAP MATERIAL THEY MADE IT OUT OF..

ANYONE HERE RUN INTO THIS PROBLEM...OF ALL THE CARS I HAVE TINTED I NEVER CAME ACROSS A CAR THAT HAD THAT HAPPEN TO ME....

Please turn your caps lock off, thank you. Now regarding your post, I have not had that problem on that car. However, I have done that before.

Is the finger on the bottom or on the top?

IF the finger is on the bottom, you are attacking the finger incorrectly. You should take you heat gun on low on the inside of the glass and start from the bottom of the finger and somewhat quickly move up to the top of the finger. then swipe down with a card. Do this a couple times and it will stick down.

Unheated finger on left, heated finger ready to smooth on right

edit: this should releave the need to have your heat gun by that molding for long periods of time.

I haven't found a need to shrink the doors on those civics......usually, the film lays right down, I soemtimes need to tuck the rubber, but that's usually it :lol6 oh, and yeah, what Q said :lol6

man, y'all must be using some jet engines in them heat guns.....I've not had a problem melting those new hondas.......I use a wagner on low whenever I do a door....I never use high....on any car for that matter....and like if I get a 'little finger mark thingy' on the back edge of a door, I'll heat that sucka up 'til it gets good and warm on the inside, and push it out....never melted one yet....:lol6
