:dunno when are they going to learn, almost anything can be done your self, seriously we as tinters are do it yourselfers, or at least were. if you DIY it dosen't mean its going to look good! RIGHT :dunno

The best is when they bring it back after they royally screwed it up and I charge them for detinting and retinting it. Selling them the film is like selling them a rope to hang themselves with.

just let them and let them realize that it is very diff. and that maybe if they want to make it look right then they will come back to you... win maybe twice. tint then tint again $

I have sold tint from my stock only two times in the past 14 years. I get plenty of interest in film purchases, but I just turn them down. It is great when, not only do they not have any experience applying the film, but they are forced to buy the cheap crap that, IMO, is tougher to work with.

I have had just as many requests to install film that they provide. I have never accepted that request. In fact, the only reason that I assume that the stuff you can buy at AutoZone, or comparable establishment, is more difficult to work with, is from the few times that I have actually touched that film. I have never actually tried to apply it. So, I could be wrong, because I can't really back up my opinion, but having a feel for the film is a very important difference between a good, experienced tinter, and one who does less than desirable work.
