struggling with quarter lights

If I can, I remove the quarter light glass.

I cant seem to get the hang of trimming for these smaller glasses. I recently tinted a hyundai terracan and removed the rear door quarter lights to do this. They came out quite easily.hyundai_terracan_gl.jpg

Do any of you experts have any special tools for handling these small glasses, like a sucker that you can attach to the glass to enable it to be worked on in the normal angle (as if it is installed) and not flat on a bench.

I seem to always pick up a bit of shiot because the glass is lay flat - probably my own fault though.

Any advise other than keep practising...

neither do I, I just tint them in the car......when you get some time, practice on several until you get the hang of it :dunno

mmm...on this one the glass extends the interior rubber by about 1 inch, I wish I had tried it in-situ now. No wonder my jobs seem to take forever.

Practise, practise, practise

And some more

in a case where the glass is 'bigger' inside the car, than outside, take an old release liner, and wet the glass (inside) and put the liner up there, cut the liner out the size of the glass (inside again) and make yourself a template, then place the template over a piece of film (on a cut table, or vert. glass) and cut out the piece using the template you just made. :thumb
