Hi everyone ,

I'm new and as my name says I'm in the security business....

Alot of my clients have started asking about security film ....I'm thinking of providing the service or at least to refer to a reputable glazer that could do what they want.

It seems to me that no one in this industry deals with multiple brand names...I came accross a few and was wondering in whos hands my customers would be the safest.

I've seen reps from a security security laminates co(most impressive in my opinion), ...they all claim to be the best of course and everyone but one complained about the competition.....

3M was the only one not willing to give me a dealership in the future....I asked all of them to let me get my feet wet before I would commit ....they all said ok...

Who is good who is not who should I trust?

I dont know how it works here and if some of your answers might not be suitable for the site please e-mail me at

thanks

Wow, around here 3M sets up anyone and everyone. :)

The brands that you mentioned all have their pros and cons. Generally, most all security films will do their job but you do want to consider clarity, construction, dealer support from the mfg or distributor. The demand for these products is growing and so are some of the product offerings too. For instance, some mfg's make a Graffiti Film that has a less agressive adhesive for easy removal. Others mfg's make thicker films from 15 mil on past 22mil.

It kind of boils down to what you want to offer and what kind of service and price point you would like to have from a supplier.

BTW- :angel to the board!

Welcome to the jungle..........LOL

As far as films are concerned, most will do the job. I have used Madico for years and have no problems with it. You are correct, 3M will not give you a dealership for their film if you have another company selling it in your area. A foolish move on their part sinc ehtey are limiting themselves to one outlet in any area, and if that seller sucks, they are at the loss. They will sell auto tint to anyone, but not flat glass. My recommendation, go with the company you feel most comfortable with and if the film does'nt perform, switch til you find the one you like.

Most all safty films perform realitivly close in comparison. And then there is mechanical attachments and silicone attachment systems. Any of the major players that you already named would be a suitible choice and like it was said before go with the company that helps you out the most and dont sign up on any dealers fee. Although some companies might want you to get certified with thier films becuase of liability reasons, if something goes wrong with an install you did and you are not certified it can go back to the manufacturer.

Try Hanita aka saftyzone good prices and good products with some new frame attachments systems that are very inovative.

armorcoat seems to sell the best down here in florida... finding that their website showing tests help out the sales quite a bit.. prolly a close second would be Llumar or madico's ngx series.. :eyebrows
