I'm basicly after a bit of advice.

every day now I convince myself it'll be a good idea to try and set up a tint shop. but dont know where to start. I was just wondering if you could shed a little light on a few things. if I do decide to do this. what kind of things should I concider? when running a premesses, what kind of things will I need to pay for? like wil there be council tax or any other kind of rates? what about licences and insurances? best place to get supplies and what stock to keep? things like that.

basicly any info you've got would be a great help. I thought I'd ask you lot before I go to places such as the bank, because obviously, you've been there, doing that!

any help mu appreciated!!!!!

Hello Karl.

A small clean workshop would be ideal but you obviously must have the work there to cover the costs. You could start out at home from a set up in garage. Another way could be to offer a mobile service where you can use the customers covered areas. I can send you a sample book of a wide range of films that can be bought by the metre, this may also help to get you of the ground. Just give me your postal address or you can ring me anytime.

Cheers and goodluck :cool

few little things I learnt...

If you get busy, be careful who you train up, tinting is an art form and not too many people can do it, theres nothing stopping one of your team setting up in competition.....This nearly happened to me, Im a one man band now!

Clean presentable workshop is good

Be prepared to h@te tinting every now and again! :spit

Be prepared financially and psychologically to go through a bit of wastage tint, especially in early days if running a business

go for it, it can only get easier!

:hmmm

I think if I do get anyone else in, if it all goes to plan, then I'll just have them doing the valeting and sign making. I'll be doing the tinting myself.

think I've already had one or two occasions where the film nearly broke me!! lol

know the feeling..had one of those days today, 106 done by 11am, but got stupid smily things on the heater lines and tried to force them out with heat, eventually after 3 redos (aaagh) I am leaving overnight to dry then to push em out (I hope) in morning (yes on a fkin saturday!). had this prob with a vw t4 b4 but never this bad.

Can only think its the shrinking path coupled with the raised heater lines????

Any one else know a solution for this????
