Heat and Temperature

I've seen, heard and read plenty of questions related to whether or not solar film lowers temperature in a room when installed to window glass.

The below quote is something learned today and addresses the question in a very easy to understand way... :lol6:hmmm

Distinguishing "Temperature" and "Heat"

It is important to understand that temperature and heat are not the same. Temperature is simply (or not so simply) a measure of the intensity of molecular motion, how rapidly the molecules comprising a material object are jostling about. Heat is a unit of energy. The tiny flame of a butane lighter can be at the same temperature as a forest fire, but forest fire is generating vastly more energy. The greater the volume of mass at a certain temperature, the greater the amount of energy (heat) it carries. Window films alone cannot "lower the temperature of a room," but rather reduce the rate at energy enters or leaves the room and thus help the AC system lower the room temperature by reducing the work it is required to do. The greater the glass area, the greater the impact window film can have on heat transfer into or out of a room.

Oh and ah... courtesy llumartech.com... sorry I forgot this.

Yep big misconception in the industry.

Remember, air conditioners cool rooms. Window film helps reduce the TSE entering the room thus helping your a/c to do it's job more efficiently.
