We have been MAD Crazy with strip and tint since the new Ga law went into effect. I live 4 houses from the tennessee/georgia state line, and we get alot of tennesseans who work in Ga also. (new law applies to ANYONE regardless of state of registration) When the new Ga law went into effect, Catoosa and Walker Counties went KA-CHING!! And cops went berserk writing citations. And wouldn't you know it, even under threat of a fine, people have been saying "AWW, 'cmon and help me out here" and quibbling over price. :):):hmmm:lol6

I just wanted to know if any more of you all experienced this cash-cow?

Willie, I agree. I don't expect the law to stand up to a challenge. Yes, they are trying to apply it to tourists as well, much the same as virginia has for years. But I feel that it goes against the interstate commerce act. someone just "passing through" on the interstate, or My brother visiting me from florida should not be expected to comply with Ga tint laws, or any other non-criminal law. I live in Ga. (No inspection sticker) Can Tennessee ( A literal stones throw away) require me to have an inspection sticker? NO! Ga invalidated the previous tint law just because it exempted out of state registrations. They couldn't enforce it unilaterally. I expect this will get shot down, too. 20% is legal in Fla. If my brother gets a ticket when he visits, I am ABSOLUTELY certain Ga will find out how constitutional the law is! ( My brother is a bottom feeder ie: atty/lawyer :lol6 )

Yep I have seen More R&R's but we are in Metro Alanta and there are only a few countys and few stations are have made it a issue. Most of min ehave came from a county that is about 10 miles away from my shop, and only a handfull from the county that I am in.

I want to buy the local city police meters just to help em out :lol6 could that be viewed as and investment :lol6

S&S... YOu are just getting that phase of the law for NC. We have been paying the $10 for like over five years now, and u bet the majority of inspection stations will make you pay it. Just find one that doesnt have a tint meter yet! But I do get a lot of cars from the dealer who refuse to pass the car and the customer wants it re-done legally (although I would rather just not have to deal with the removal part to get the installation part)
