Hey, guys!

My name is Nick, I own Shorty's Graphics in Tampa, Fl.

I have 6 years of sign/vinyl/graphic design experience, with a one year stint as an asssistant to a tinter. I haven't done this in a long time, but a number of customers need it and I'd like to get back in.

My question is, the guy I worked for sized his tint with an exact-o knife. Does anyone use templates to pre-cut tint, and if so, what percentage of people? Is it worth it?

Thanks!

-Nick

If you are referring to "hand-cut I think you will find that many of the installers here still hand cut their work, althougth, computer cut is getting popular if you can throw down the $$$ to buy the equipment.

welcome to the board :bingo

everyone here probably does things little bit different

since your set up already with equipment to pre-cut

thats a good option for you

but you still need to learn hands on

thanks for the quick replies!

anyone got an idea of where I can get the layouts for a new (4 door) accord or a dodge ram 1500? those are my brother/sister-in-law's vehicles, and they've offered to be test mules.

I have computer cut, but I go both ways :bingo hand-cut and plotter. depends on what I doing. majority of auto installs are hand-cut. majority of (tint)graphics are computer cut. computer cut I mainly use for PPF and graphics.
