Did you heat shrink the back window first ?

yes I heat shrank it first then cut it to size then smoothed it out and shrank any fingers that popped up. have I done anything wrong?

With stubborn fingers near the edge or bubbles that appear along the heating element after installation, I find that by applying heat on the outside of the glass until fairly hot to touch and carefully pushing the the fingers or bubbles to the edge on the inside gets them out nicely. You can also treat creases in this way. The blue max is a great tool for rear windows, I personally feel.
