Tint or PPF harder to learn?

For any of you who tint and do paint protection film I was wondering which is harder to learn. I started installing PPF about 2 years ago at my detail shop and only do about 1 PPF per week. I am just recently feeling confident with hoods but bumpers still make me nervous. I am trying to decide if I should try to learn tinting or if I will ever get good at it only doing one or two jobs a week. If I do start I would like to do flat and auto.

Thanks

Tinting! :spit

Those window film installers who date back to the birth of window film on cars can install PPF easily... back then the install method was similar to installing PPF, but window film doesn't stretch.

You should be a jump ahead of most attempting auto film installs just as long as you keep in mind the lack of stretchability in window film. :spit

I've heard a few tinters tell me that if it took you 100 cars to start to get the hang of tint...it's about 20-25 cars to get the hang of PPF :spit

I've done a couple of them..but am too busy with tint to bother :spit

Besides..I bet I only get maybe 5 calls a yr for the PPF...must be all relative to where you live (location /demographics) :spit

I think it's like comparing apples to oranges. Two completely different monsters. Like metint said...you might have a jump start on tinting compared to someone who's never done either.

I picked up PPF pretty easily. but besides doing tinting for so long, I also do vinyl graphics. installing PPF is kinda a combination of the two, with stretching involved. you may have a head start in the clean install catagory, but I just don't see someone good at PPF picking up tinting very easily. it's just not the same thing.

After tinting for a couple years, I picked up the ppf and love the product!! Im still going for the free training from my supplier to teach my installer and give myself the right technique. Its not to hard to remove or install. However, if something isnt streched right on the car when you install, youre in a world of hurt trying to figure it out.
