Viper 791XV remote start question

First, thanks to all. I picked up some very good advice here before having my 791XV installed "professionally" in my 01 Dodge Ram. I paid $300.00 for the install and it was well worth it. They wanted to install it for $100.00 at Best Buy but I elected to go elsewhere. I love my truck :phone One issue came up and before I go back to the installer I thought I could ask for a little more advice please. Every now and then the remote start only kicks in the starter for 1 second and that's it. The truck won't start like that. Then it will restart and crank it a bit more and it starts fine. IS there a way they can make the starter crank a few seconds more every time? I appreciate any input on this. I'll bring it in this week as the installer is very reputable and does outstanding work. I considered installing the unit myself as I have 30 years in the low voltage security field (commercial buildings) but you guys reminded me about how difficult it is working in and around and twisted into a pretzel on these vehicles. Airbags going boom and smoking wires are bad Mkay. Thanks for the reminder folks !! A good man has got to know his limitations :phone

I am not familiar with that particular unit, but all of the professional models that I have installed in my past have a programmable starter engagement time. Just ask the installer where you had it done and I am sure they will help you out.

Thanks for your reply's folks. Brought it back and they fixed it right up for me. It was done using the tach wire and now it starts 9 out of ten times on the very first try and never past the second attempt during the first three starts. Seems pretty reliable to me. Also had them ad the window module. A very nice feature as I always leave my windows down when I shut the truck. Anyway thanks again for your time and a great forum. :gay
