Tinting Prices

I realize there is a large gap between least expensive and the most expensive. I know that there are some high quality installers out there. My question is how do you know when your getting a fair price? There is a local high end installer who wants $550 to remove old tint and install new tint.

We can't really say what a fair price is of what another tinter is as we don't discuss prices on this forum...however I will say that removing old tint can be an undertaking sometimes.

Best is to price compare 3 or more shops in YOUR area...feel them out ..see which shop gives you a better "vibe" then the others , then use your best instincts from there.

I'll leave you with this last thought .

You get what you pay for. :lol

the shops that have given you quotes....have they seen the tint that is on the car, before they quoted you?

I charge more for some removals than others. more times than not I can tell how bad the nightmare is gonna be just by looking at it.

may be a good way to help you sort out the highend shops in your area. It dosent seem right to quote without seeing. (another reason we cant really answer your question)

tinters like ot tint, not do removals, they tend to be PITA's....so we charge accordingly... the only request I have is PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont try to do it yourself. avoid damaging your own car, and the tinter from having to finish the job for ya. I promise you that you wont get it all off without scratching, damaging the rear defrosters, or leaving adhesive. all which will cause for an ugly tint job when you retint it.

if $ is the main factor....have the hack shop thats starving for work remove it (there is a reason they are sooo cheap....and its not because they are doing you a favor) and give a good inspection upon picking it up, making sure that there are no scratches or breaks in the rear defroster lines. I mean eye fcuk the he!! out of it.

from there spend the extra $ on a reputable highend tinter when you retint. so you arent in the same predicament later.

depends on your car, how bad the tint is and most of all wheater or not the shop wants to hassel with your car, if I don't want to work on someones car I'm polite and say the most outrages price I can think of so you go somewhere eles, it makes it easier for me to hang up the phone once I give my price because most will have hung up already not wanting to pay my price.

sometimes I will just say sorry I don't want the job call someone eles, then I get the 3rd degree, why not why won't you do it must be nice to pick your jobs, yes it is thanks for calling, :DD

I never tell a customer im gonna save his lines!

that's looking for trouble, when removing tint, we dont warranty the defroster lines! who knows what could happen when removing, they' could not end up working or they are not working in the first place! be careful! :lol2
