Yes; VHB tape is strong and likely will damage the tint’s scratch coat when removed. You might test a small area first or try a low-tack adhesive instead. If you do use VHB; heating it with a hairdryer before removing can sometimes help minimize damage.
I use Global QDP 35% to match that darkness. It will meter right in there once added to the front sides.
You could also do a 50% over the rear windows and it will put it to match with 20% on the front.
I have a 2020 Subaru Forester Sport. A tint shop read the rear windows factory privacy film at 27.5%. I want to match this for the front windows, but the options I'm told are 20%, 22.5% or 35%. Given the light coming in from the windshield, I was told 22.5% would be the closest. Would you agree? 35% would be ceramic and they said looks darker than a non-ceramic 35%.
