I would like to know if anyone has had any experience with sun tek films. I am really interested in possibly picking up the line as a back up to llumar for less expensive film.

Of all the film products available that get discussed in General forum I find they fit into 3 categories:

1) Those that show an amount of confidence in their product no amount of bad mouthing will ruffle their feathers, hence those usually remain in open discussion areas.

2) Those films that believe they have something to lose when openly discussed, threatening to sue all involved in the discussion, so those discussions promptly get moved into the trash, locked or off to subscriber forums.

3) Those films that need every kind of exposure and advertising they can muster to move their product and reap the benefits of remaining in open forum here @ TD.com. Whether good or bad discussion, any exposure saves them money.

Where do you think the product you ask about fits?

The links below are the only fruitful discussions of the product you ask of within the first 12 pages of General. Ctrl F gets you a search function and allows you to find any topic mentioned before.

Bottom line... there are too many characteristics, good and bad, with all window film names to even have the time to review them all here (or as you put it, compare).

But I'm sure someone will chime in with there opinion of this film.

I recently added suntek carbon series as a lower line to my LLumar ATR CH and LLumar Platinum Plus. it seems to be some pretty good film, especially for the price. BUT.......

......98% of my customers choose the LLumar products. so take that as you will.

One thing I can't understand is why is it so bad to compare one film against another.Everyone can talk about anything except films, isn't that an important part of installations too? It's like some kind of secret society between the film companies and were not invited. It's such :lol that an opinion can get you sued.

it's a pointless arguement. everyone has a different opinion on what makes a quality film. also, what works well up north, dies in 2 years down here in the southern states. X brand of film may last forever in canada, but put it in the texas, arizona, or florida sun and it's purple and peeling in 2 summers.

yeah, it is bullshiat that we can't discuss one certain brands film that has a serious grainy problem, and another major brand whose films just suck period. but how would you like it if customers formed a forum to discuss your shop?

it would be fine as long as they didn't discuss a couple areas where you need improvement. because that might influence another customer in deciding not to use your shop.

it sucks that we can't discuss tint on a tint forum. (that's why we now have a subscriber forum) :lol
