tintnfool
Remote starters...how do they work. For the consumer I mean. I've been thinking of getting one for my wife's car and maybe my car and I just was curious as to how they worked. Okay, you push your key fob and it starts the vehicle, but could somejump in and drive it off? I would assume the answer is "no" because there isn't a key in the ignition correct? Does it just bypass the ignition remotely, is that how they work? Sorry for the stupid questions, but I really have no idea how these bad boys work. TintWizard
You guessed corectly...It starts thecar..but it bybasses the ignition. I'll answer your question by means of an example (this is how mine works anyways): You push your remote..it starts, a theif smashes your window on your locked car as it's running, he jumps it, pushes the brake or engagesanything..the car just quits as if it was never started. TintWizard
Just be sure to go to a reputable shop that guarantees thier work...insalling a starter can have it's "glitches" is not done with experience. Good luck
Guest Zrok
by reputable, he means stay away from circuit city and best buy... any BIG retail chain... go to the little guys. (the ones that have been in business for a while) or if you're in doubt... ask around.. you'd be surprised at what you find.
