You didn't go back far enough.

When Dad Bush invaded Iraq, Time magazine sent out an article saying gas was going to cost over $3 a gallon in 60 days. The media took that and ran with it until it was moldy and beaten in the ground. I really do NOT like the media.

I had just opened my 4th shop less than 30 days before the invasion. After that article, business took a very huge :bling and I ended up closing that one after a year. If it were not for my credit cards, I would not have survived. That was the most scariest time of my life. Looking back, I figure I had about 30 more days left before I had to file the big "B"

When the dot coms started dropping like flies, our commercial business was flat. But all in all, we did fine and more than the previous year.

As we only opened shop in 2004 I can't take part in this poll, although we were actually all set to start in 03, but a family bereavement kinda ended that...... :bling

So perhaps I will vote after all... :bling

My business has grown steadily every year since I opened it in 1992. I suppose I can look forward to sometime in the future having a bad year comparitively. :lol

I agree with Tinitman, you didn't go back far enough.

Worst years would be 89-91. The state's economy was in the toilet and new home building was way down. Several times came close to shutting it all down.

Since that time it's been increasing every year. Sometimes only small gains, during the tech boom there were some really big jumps, but it has continued to grow. :ohcrap
