Guest darkdan
Here in MN we had some lovely freezing rain on the 1st. Well about 1/2" built up on my vic. So yesterday I did what any lazy person would do to clean off the windshield. I turned the car on and let it run for 30 minutes with the heat on defrost. So I come back outside and here's a lovely 3.5' long horizontal crack on my windshield. I guess it got too hot. SOB! I just can't have nice things. Guest darkdan
yeah, two of them. One I just got a few months back. The other one I tried to get fixed last year. The guy said some idiot tried to fix it and drilled too far into it....thanks Iowa State Patrol (previous owner). The crack goes through one of the chips. I didn't look close enough to see which one. It was too hard to see with tears in my eyes.

Guest darkdan
Well I just completely redid the suspension on my other car. It started out with new front struts and tie rod ends. Then I found out the springs had the top coil broken off! Stupid rust. So then it was springs and struts. Well the front strut mounts were shot too. Of course OEM springs are $220 for the front too. So I ordered after market drop springs for $185 for all four sides. Now I need camber bolts. So $250 project is now up to $575! Heck, I figure I'm spending $600 I may as well go all out. So I order $40 in new bushings. Then I go rice and get a strut bar ($70 and I've heard good things from non-ricers about them....common sense suggests it should help). So now we're bordering on $700. Finally, after not being able to get off the back struts I give up. I'll just have a shop do the back for $180. Yes, it hurt my pride, but it's a big long story about those back struts. I hang my head in sorrow and decide to take the crown vic out for a spin. Well, the windshield is completely covered in ice, but then I had a great idea. I'll just run the car for a while. And that's the prelude to the windshield cracking. =) Yes, so after putting $880 in suspension on a $500 car I REALLY didn't need my windshield breaking on my vic. TINT
that's mean. you know I've heard that when a glass is real cold and you throw something hot or for example hot water on it, it can crack without really having any rockchips.
