Guest Clearview
ok so I'm kinda new to the whole graphics world-I bought the plotter for ppf and now I find myself getting more and more requests for lettering and stuff. So now that I'm still in the learning stages eps files have tripped me up. Currently I'm using Lxi Master for my design work but it will not read eps files. What is everyone using that will give me the least amount of trouble and be able to use all of the eps files out there? Thanks and sorry for all the questions Nate
TINTDESIGNZ
Is the program you are using a sign program? :gayfight Most sign programs will open eps files-in fact most clip art comes in eps format, we use flexi sign-for signs etc.-and adobe illustrator/photoshop for art work such as t-shirt logos etc. I'm by no means a computer whiz-but you definitelyneed a sign program that reads eps! ss
Guest Clearview
I know the feeling about not being a computer wiz. It's hard when you have to do everything by trial and error.
TINTDESIGNZ
If you purchase a sign program such as flexi-you get the manual, and training video that will teach you how to do things that you might never figure out by trial. I used Sign wizard by Aries graghics from 1995-2002-and loved it. Very easy program designed for signs/lettering--bought a "new and improved" sign computer in 2002-liked to never got it down! We have a steady work load of signs so it was a real pain in my azz until I studied manual and bought the video! The programs looked similiar --but commands totally different! Good Luck!ss
KYStang
WARNING: I know as little about computers as I do rocket science. If your sign program does not open eps files, try importing them instead. I use Vinyl Master Pro and it will not open eps files either. However, I can import them all day long. Good Luck! Guest Clearview
I got it figured out, For some reason LXI will just not open some EPS files. Now I just open everyhing in Adobe CS and export it over to LXI, I figured That covers everything I need as far a design software. May not be the best way but it works for me.
