Anyone ever mess with the customers?

Recommended Posts

Sometimes I will put a ball peen hammer, hack saw and a bottle of super glue on my front counter. Amazingly, someone always asks what they are for sometime throughout the week. I just explain to them with a straight face that thats all I use to install the window film. :coffee

Some people's reactions are priceless. Then when you tell them you were joking they just die laughing that they fell for it. Keeps the environment pretty lax also for everyone, even the customers, plus I get my kicks to keep me sane.

Same here Tintfool...I've been known to have a rather warped and unique sense of humour which I do unleash from time to time on customers... think the best one I've ever pulled of though that comes to mind is whe nI had a guy drop off a brand new...right from the dealer 2001 Dodge Ram 4X4 and I by chance had the very same looking Truck in every aspect (yr, colour/interior) EVERYTHING accept for one small difference,,,the first one had been used in the woods for 4X4 ing...stratches everywhere ..a few knicks in the paint...well enjoyed.

I couldn't resist.

I took the time to clean the one as best I could ( a spit shine ) and with a straight face..handed him the keys to the other customers ...HE FLIPPED!!

"but sir..I swear it looked like that when it came to my shop" (It did...whe nthe other customer brought it to me :coffee )

He had a good laugh once I fessed up ..you had to be there to appreciate it...it was priceless the look on his face.

I've got a part-timer in my shop who is a regular comedian, he found a keychain in the back floorboard of a car we were tinting & when you pressed the button it sounded like a woman having an orga$#.

He jumped up & went straight to the waiting area where the lady was sitting & started pressing the button. She busted out laughing & started chasing him thru the shop, it was quite hillarious to see. :coffee

Luckily she had a good sense of humor...

We do things that are funny too

We wait for the customer to call to check and see if there car is ready and tell them Just about we're trying to figure out how to get the enigne back in

Or if the droped it off before we get here and the call to find out if it's done we would tell them What car we didn't see it in the lot. nope it isn't here. and they are like WHAT I drop it of this moring. .

Thingd like that

It funny to hear what ppl will say

1. When they ask "how long before I can roll my windows down?" I reply "You cant ever roll them down now that there tinted" you get a look of horror.

2. They best is take some scrap film and a cut a super thin (about 1/32" X 12-14" ) piece and make a simulated 'crack' in the windshield. it looks 100% real. then tell them that it was cracked before and your not paying for it !!! People go nuts ( also works great for scamming insurance companies not that I would ever do something like that :coffee )

Oh god, that one had me laughing out loud. :dunno

I had a similiar situation, only I was telling the truth. I told the customer I was completely done and was just trying to get their tire back on, and they started laughing. I really was trying to get their tire back on. I just forgot to explain WHAT tire (spare tire of a cherokee, damn thing was in the way in the back).

Guest Tintbds-

Cool thread :lol

However, on the 26th Nov-04, I did this below to a waiting customer's car. Squeeze 1/2 the tinted window. :gay

Took a picture and ask him if he like it? He gave no responds. I then said it is the latest design. :gay

You should seethe look on his face. :lol

I had a young kid come in with a rollup window that was beginning to peel.

I told him that the number one reason tinted windows peel prematurely was from smoking too much weed in the vehicle with the windows rolled up. I told him that a cop friend of mine explained it to me and that was how he made alot of dr*g busts on cars with tinted windows.

He looked at me like :trustme and said, "What ?, No @#$% ???" His buddy that was with him (total stoner with bloodshot eyes) started laughing like Spiccolli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. This made the first kid even more nervous and upset.

He must have swore up and down for 5-10 minutes that he NEVER SMOKES weed in his truck... EVER !!!

I told him to settle down cause I was only bullshittin' him.

I still laugh about it every time I remember the look on his face when I first told him about the "Weed factor".
