Adhesive removal

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know of a good chemical to use on dry adhesive to strip the glue when removing it?? We had a flat glass job, just to remove the old film. Tried the usual amonia glue stripper and it was'nt worth a carrot.

I've used greased lightning with some success on cdf adh. I will try de-solv-it though next time I run into it. of course the best solution I've found for removing it is MORE MONEY :rollin that seems to works the best for me

Goo Gone? I haven't found anything that it wont (eventually) get off. And it's available almost everywhere. Never tried it on tint adhesive, but if you get desperate it may be worth a shot.

ive never even used a stripper on removing the glue on flat glass. ive allways just used soap and water. works well for me. I ahve tried it on auto doors before. and it seemed to make the glue very slimey and sticky. I maybe I should have used diferent stuff. but it seems that with just soap and water. the glue cleans up alot easier. maybe I should explain what I mean by that. you know when your finished scrapping the glass. you still have to get some of the loose glue off it. with the stripper. the glue was like snot. and a b***h to get off. with soap and water. I couls just grab the big pieces. and the rest wiped right off . has anyone else noticed this. or was my stripper junk . I was using simple pink at the time

Good old soap and water has worked best for me on CDF..Goo Gone is toxic and should only be use in small amounts, The best way to remove auto PS film is sweating. other wise you have the booger adhesive.... very gross.
