Top of Door panel will not take heat under your heatgun. Looks like a vinyl skin over the top half of the door panel and it will melt under your heatgun. 2011 Nissan Rogue

Just wondering if anyone has seen the black thin tape on the front edge of the front two windows? Ive tried everything and tinting over it and heat gunning it down seems to be the best option. Anyone else on here run into one please fill me in on how it turns out.

Won’t do full windshields on new Rams bc of computer module but you can add the New Altima to this list. Did it 2 days ago and had to press push start about 8 times to get it to startEd bc it wouldn’t recognize key fob. Customer drove it home and now it won’t start again, just keeps saying it can’t recognize key fob.

Heads up to panel pullers. This car is easy to tint but if your a tinter that likes to either remove the bottom gasket or pull back panels, you will most likely have to pull the panel. If you pull the panel, you have to pry the trim around the door opener latch carefully as it is easy to break the tabs. Best way is to take the smallest mini screw driver and work your way around to depress all the tabs (here's a pic of one off so you don't have to guess where the tabs are on the hidden side) : Also, when taking off the mirror cover off the 2 front panels be VERY careful or you will be repairing 1 or 2 plastic clips on the other side. Very poor design for taking off. If yo…

The new Sentra can be very easy car. Only to pull the panels you have to remove the trim around the inner handle. The best way I have found to do this without causing any nicks to the edges is an old pink chizzler card. Insert it between the silver trim and door handle cup. Use it to unclip the silver trim. I wish this was posted last week, I bugered up the first one I did. Thank you for sharing though. I have ment to for over a month. Just kept forgetting to snap a pic. Works great on the sentra and brand new rogue. Good to know! I use to use a pick, but would make a spot now and then, barley noticeable. So tried this one day about a month back and I have yet …

Hello fellow tinters. Has anyone tinted one of these cars? Have a custy that want me to quote him for the rear windows. Best regards

Did the new Leaf today and it is pretty simple. The back window scared me for a second as it has a good bend to it. It is a perfect curve though and can be shrunk in 2 minutes. The sweeps are very loose so it makes this an easy install. Nissan just had to put those stupid windows in the front though

Steel wool just doen't cut. I hit the shiat out that bg w/ steel wool, just to get 4 peanuts on the very bottom defroster line. I usually don't even bother with steel wool b/c it doesn't help. I heard someone say that the sand them down, which seems a little harsh, but if done w/ caution, it could work. I never had many issues when using qdp, true black(with slip tack), and value tint, but with suntek hP, it seem like I get one on every third bg i do. Iv noticed since i swiched back to suntek that imperfections don't lay down like they used to and the adhesive seems weaker. I swear, nothing drives me more crazy than peanuts....

Any Issues to worry about on the new design?
Last reply by dezild, -
the rear window can be done with 24 inch film and there is some shrinking to do. the 1/4's are in the doors now instead of the body. had a rough time getting the brake light disconnected that sucker did'nt want to come apart, matrix is the same fine dot material like the lod ones.

Ok, just did a 2011 Quest. It has the retard triangle windows in front of the doors that seems to be all the rave lately, but easy to get to. The doors are very flat, and require no heating. ***Beware*** If you pull the gaskets, and dont remove the panel to do so, all you have to do is pull the top back opposite the mirror side. However, if you dont have a panel puller, DONT DO IT! When you yank the panel back, the plug will stay in the hole and come off the panel. Its a blue pop plug with the old fashion "ribs" that keep it in the hole. Also, when you put the gasket back, make sure you dont pull the material off the panel when you slide it back in. I did it wit…

I recently done two altimas, one 08 and the other 2010. Is there something I need to know about the side windows? They crease rather than the normal shrink. When I apply the heat, instead of it squiggling up, it just forms a thin line leading to a crease. I used EWF classic black and a madico film on the other and both do the same. Whats going on?? I wet shrink btw

The first new gen Maxima I did a couple years back had some thick lines, not bad enough to pucker but just a little thick. So since then I've been going over them with a little extra prep and haven't had any problems with the other 4 or 5 I've done. Well today I had a 2012 that had about 15 puckers. It was a Carlex glass (like Altima) I pulled it, scrubbed it like an Altima and it turned out great the 2nd time. So that's 1 out of 4 or 5 with an issue, has anyone else run into it?

The trim around the opening handle on the latest body style Sentra can be very tricky to remove without damaging. I have found that the best tool to remove this piece of trim is a lil chizzler. Slide it between the trim and door panel to release the clips. Works fast and worry free. I will try to snag a picture or 2 the next one I tint.

Yay! It's an easy car...no more peanuts on the defroster lines. The back glass is smaller and the brakelight comes right out of its little cubby hole. The rear doors have just the rollup, while the small triangular quarter glass is in the c-pillar. The front rollups are long but pose no problem. The car is not officially on sale yet, so the car I did is a showroom demo only.

I have customer that needs to replace the rear door glass in her 1998 Nissan Pathfinder. It's the factory bronze tint. It's super expensive for the glass and I'm trying to help her out. I can get clear glass really cheap and was wondering if there's a film to match the bronze tint. I know it probably won't be perfect but as long as it's close. Any suggestions?

I google searched this model, appears to be all new..curious if the rear glass is a little quicker? Is there a wide matrix? Headroom? I've only done one of the last body style and Im glad there weren't two!

Not sure what year this is...newer, ummm hard platic piece in between the headrests that acts as a rear window when the top is down. Question is how do you tint the conv. window with this %&$# in the way?

To start off you're not gonna do this backglass w/o removing it. More shiat to cut around than a nightmare ford escape. I told customer I was not going to do it, but he said rto forget the back glass then. Did the rest which was as easy as they come.

Had one of these come in today, sure enough the peanuts were the only problem. What a way to make an otherwise easy car take way too long. I had one come in a week ago from the body shop with an a/m rear glass and what a difference, No probs whatsoever on that one. Custy hung out and watched me knock it out and was down the road in a jif. I've read other posts about 000 sanding, the shrink technique, using the right film, and I even use a clear max to really force the stuff down. Finally ended up doing a few relief cuts after a few hrs in the sun. Anybody else come up with a failproof method to knock these out with no issues?

Hey guys, been a while since I posted Had a 2012 pathfinder booked today and anyway I couldnt get the back glass easy without removing it and it was brand new and I work solo so I chose not to remove it iw en to my glass supplier and bought a window I saw it as an investment for future pathfinders as there is a sh!tload of them here in aus anyway the glass I bought is aftermarket, its labeled 2005+ looks very similar except the 2012 has a dot matrix over the 3rd brakelight I dry dhrunk and cut film on my new window, thinking sweet isntallin will be a breeze, wrong, massive figners everywhere and cut too small in 70% of places (note I cut it correctly on the other glas…

I've hand cutted everything I've ever tinted, and I have come across some weird windows, but I've never come across a Nissan Cube until now. CRAZY front two window shape going on there. Anybody know the best way to hand cut these windows before I get to it in a couple hours?
