Hi, I Jeep Gladiator Rubicon '21 at time of purchase I got the dealer to put a tinting on the car. I was advising it was Full Ceramic Film. Now I have RKE, TPMS and other electronic issue. Jeep has issued a Technical Bulletin due to RF antenna a few of their models (all jeeps) cannot have ceramic film - mainly the front 2 windows. I lam looking to see if anyone else has this problem or recommend another tint for my car.

I think the gladiator might be a unicorn. First vehicle that does not require any shrinking. I didnt do the front windshield but it sure looks like it doesn’t require any shrink. Tape the side felt and install. 🎂

Tinted a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2 wks ago. Forgot which year probably 2013-2015. Customer came back and showed me his door windows and and rear side on trunk. They all look like snake water spot line. First time I ve seen it. Any ideas? Rear hatch is ok. I doubt it s a glass defect. On the rear side trunk where tint only go to the matrix line. But those water spot line runs all the way outside the matrix line too. So I m gonna remove one window s film and re-do just one see what happens by next wk.

Only did the front two...still the same as the old ones. One 10 mm bolt and the top of the panel can be pulled back. I looked at the back window, looks the same as the Compass with the spoiler being in the way of the top border.

10mm screw behind the door handle, and a philips screw on the outside of the door panel. I removed both of these and it gave me enough room to pull the sweeps without removing the whole panel. The back window was a pain. Easy shrink once you get the pattern cut out. The wiper mount is in the middle of the pattern on the bottom, and the top of the window meets right up to the spoiler with no room to cut around the border. When I get another I'll be removing the spoiler.

Just to keep anyone else from looking for info on this, these are basically the same as the previous generation with some slight differences. No trim with fake allen heads to remove, those two bolts are now exposed under the door pull. This one had power in the doors so I had to re-clip the panel at the bottom so I could leave it half attached. Probably could have removed it but I didn't unplug anything. Otherwise they are simple. Nice and easy for a bottom load install. Oh yea, and no shrink. Duh, its a Jeep...

Still easy...to remove those two caps on the top sides of the bg, just grab the top portion and pull straight up slightly and then pull back.

So my inspection failed. Guy says can't have tint over the third brake light. I think the rear windows are 20% tinted stock coming straight of the factory floor. I can't find anything on the search engines so I made an account so I could get some insight from experts on the matter. If it is stock I'm going to bring that to them and make them pass it. If its not ill bite the bullet and somehow remove the tint. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

did 2 fronts on a brand new,0 miles grand today. easy peasy right? hmm not today...did pass side first. rolled it up,rinsed the bottom, finished squeegeing it out and moved to over to the drivers side. rolled it up,rinsed out the bottom, layed the tint in and squeegeed it out. hit the window lock button and pushed the ignition button on the dash to turn off the accessories. both front windows started to wiggle up and down for a few secs with the power off and then stopped.I turn the power back on and try to roll the windows up and nothing. try the back door windows and they work fine, wth? luckily this was a dealer I do alot of work for so I had 1 of the techs plug it into t…

The side seals aren't any easier this year on the fronts. But have no fear! Take a couple minutes to yank the panel, drop the whole piece of film in instead of a half and half. I use this method on pretty much all Dodges/ Heeps with the big tight felt, with no issues. Trust me on this!!

Had a customer in for a windshield last week. She asked me about some "knick" in the door windows. At first I passed it off as seatbelt knicks, but after talking to her further and looking more in to it, there was something inside the door rubbing on the glass. I was curious if this was a fluke, so today I checked out my uncle's jeep I tinted a while back. Sure as %&$# in the rear parts of the front doors there are little spots where the tint had worn completely through. Something to remember if one of these comes in.

I had to tint 1 front roll up for someone on a 99 grand cherokee. The window was smashed and replaced, which is why it needed done. Anyhow, I had to try it literally like 8 times before i finally got it to lay flat. Luckily I have already tinted two vehicles for the guy, so he realized I didn't just have no idea what I was doing lol...Felt very stupid... Never had a problem like this, I ended up pulling the panel after the second try. It seemed like no matter how much I shrunk it huge fingers popped up in the same place every time. Has anyone else had any issues with this window at all? It didn't even look like it had a bad curve to it at all, my 944 was easier to …

a friend of mine wants his two front windows done, i looked at them and then began trying to do them. I had a problem getting a good cut/trace of my film on the outside because the window is more resessed into the door frame, and those door panels, those mothers are tight, any special way to get them off, his driver side is already cracked prolly from taking them off by previous owner? idk i just dont want to damage them anymore than what they are. Its my first jeep, needless to say i didnt go through with the whole job, its more of a practice job then a profit one. any tips or tricks would help incase i run into a real customer that i dont know thanx.

I know it might sound like a stupid question for all you pros but I admit i am still learning and I just want to prepare ahead of times. My question is concern the two clips on the back glass of the jeep as shown in the picture, Do I have to remove them? if so, is it tricky removing these or is it pretty much straightforward just unscrew and i am done. Anything I should look out for this particular vehicle? Just need a few quick simple answers. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I am trying to finish up my jeep and the backglass has defrost lines which are no problem except for the big line on the left and right side. On that line there are raised solder points at each defrost line that goes across the window. You can't see that its raised in the pic but its pretty significant. There is about a 1/2" of glass on the other side of the line. I don't want a big light line around the edge on the sides. Any suggestions on how to make it look like it is one solid piece? With those bumps I can't imagine it would span over that and actually lay down on those edges. I was thinking maybe a black 1/2" pin strip all the way around the edge of the glass to cov…

Just wondering, if you tint in the winter time vs. the summer time, is it possible for the tint not to dry /adhere properly, or even perhaps shrink? Let me know, thanks!
