My plotter can cut traditional vinyl and static cling films without a problem. However, I am trying to cut a 0.36mm thick polycarbonate sheet (which is thicker than those previous films), but when I am feeding it into the plotter, it starts walking and shifts slowly. It is not due to the blade, as I fed it without cutting it, and it started shifting to the right slowly. What could be the problem? I tried checking the roller tension and I always feed it straight. This is urgent! Here is a link to a more in-depth walkthrough:

I should reach out to graphtec about this issue, but I'm curious if anyone else has experienced the same problem with their plotter. My graphtec plotter can cut specific designs flawlessly without any problems with pressure or shape. Occasionally I experience an issue where I will plot a design consisting of two fronts or a rear windshield window, and the cut is flawless, but just before the plotter finishes, allowing me to remove the excess material from the machine. It reaches the end as if it will finish feeding it completely and then abruptly lowers the blade as if it still needs to cut the design, slicing right through the pattern it just created. Do you have any tho…

Hey guys - so I work for a vinyl graphics company that is adding window tinting to their repertoire and I had a question about your guys' ideal process. I have my plotter set up and my window tinting software ready to go, but I am completely ignorant about the way that tint installers prefer that things be cut. Currently, I will plot/weed the tint and cut the backing away as much as I dare before handing it over to the installer. I was thinking that the installer would prefer the tint to be cut to shape which I believe I can achieve with the perf cut on my plotter. Is that the typical process or should I not be worried so much about it being cut to exact shape?

Hey everyone. New to the forum and excited to be here. I have just purchased a HP Latex 64 Cutter and I’m looking for some support. Has any one used this device to cut window film and if so I’m looking to see how the media sensor works because it keeps just rolling the film out. Anyways, any help is welcomed. Thank you so much

Hey everyone! I have a Roland GX400 at one of my satellite shops, and I've never worked on these before (only Graphtec). Does anyone have the settings specifically for PPF? We don't cut anything but PPF, and just need the pressure settings if anyone has them on hand. Would really appreciate the help, thanks in advance!

Its been a while since posting but i felt inclined to share my excitement about my new setup. I have a q64 and fc9000 in the shop and wanted to try something a bit different for a change as i needed a new shop station. Ive always heard great things about Summa products and i heard about a new series they just released so i grabbed it and wow im blown away. The new Summa S one is an absolute beast for window film. Im currently cutting Xpel products and this plotter absolutely crushes the viny express and graphtec in performance. Much smoother machine and incredibly fast. If i were to run the graphtec at these speeds it would destroy the film but this machine…

The shop i'm at recently got into the tinting world and I need help dialing in my Graphtec FC9000 settings! I cut all our tint from patterns in core, and another person installs it. Needing some help! My installer doesn't like how the tint peels. He said he wants it to take him 5-10 seconds to peel the tint and he's taking 15-20 because it feels like the material is catching. It's not a completely fluid peel. Using a 30 degree blade. Blade Depth at 2. Force bounces between 11-14 depending on dullness of blade. Speed 10-15. ALSO my installer wants the window patterns to cut completely through the backing paper vs kiss cut. I have experience with plotting …

I hope everybody is doing great. I’m opening a film distribution company that will sell paint protection film, and Window Tint at wholesale prices. I’m working with the manufacturer they’re asking me what cuts do I want my 100 rolls of ceramic Window cut to. To do some research to see what would best suit all the window tenders out there. Any suggestions? by the way, I’m sending free sample rolls to anybody who would like to try. The roll sizes are 20 inch by 100 feet samples.

I've been using tinter patterns for a few years. Its my experience that I spend more money on having to had hand cut bad patterns than what the program is worth. I toss a lot of film on the ground and then trash. The trick is dont cut the whole car first. Cut one side before you cut the other. This is what we have been doing for the past 2 years. Hit and miss??? There are few cars that are have really good patterns. My advice is to hand cut all doors. Use the software for new ford f150 trucks and chevy trucks and hatch backs and stationary quarter windows,They still haven't fixed the Large bronco patterns. Just did the fronts on a 2008 ford f150, how can patter…

I just purchased a warehouse to open up a wrap shop to apply PPFs, window tints, and vinyl wraps to customer vehicles. What is the best value plotter to get? I want something that will be reliable, has a really good software that is easy to use and saves film, and something that would break the bank . Ive heard of brands like the Workhorse 2, Graphtec fc9000, and Jaguar V LX 72". What do you guys recommend?! Thank you so much for the help!

Hey guys.. Currently I use Tru-Cut software with a Graphtec plotter and it works great, but doesn't have templates I need for a job I have. I got contracted to tint a bunch of heavy equipment by this company and it would be nice to create my own templates, or have access to software that has templates for bulldozers, excavators and front loaders because I know I'm going to be doing a lot of work for these guys. Thanks in advance.

Does anyone by chance know of someone who can work on a GCC puma in the Tampa FL area? I can't get this thing to cut correctly for the life of me- GCC seems to think it's the "pladent" needing adjustment, but I don't have the box it came in to ship it in for service for one, or two the time.

I'm new here & chances are I'm probably doing this wrong. I purchased a new graphtec fc9000 160 & received it a couple months ago. I have never used a plotter so I'm wondering if anyone might know someone located in san Antonio texas that is familiar with the plotter and willing to make some money showing me the basics? It was such a big expense for it to remain boxed up on the floor.

Hello yall. With the influx of Teslas coming into the shop, I've decided to perhaps purchase a Graphtec FC9000-160 to speed things up with tinting the roof. My question is, is it actually worth it? I dont see much info on it online besides the Graphtec info video. I also plan on printing PPF and film. Any input is welcomed. Thanks!

I’m thinking of getting rid of my vinyl cutter. It’s a 24” Roland GX-24 and it works fine, I just don’t have room for it anymore. I’d like to replace it with something with a smaller footprint, probably either a Silhouette or Cricut. But I know nothing about the current crop of vinyl cutters, and am looking for advice from you all, since I know quite a few of you do have them. Besides the smaller footprint, I’m interested in something that I can upload my own designs to, without paying a subscription. I don’t care if it’s WiFi connected. I am interested in print-and-cut, and something that can cut a variety of materials, thick and thin. What say you, folks? I’d …

I have no idea if this software even exists. I would love to find software that I could feed the measurements of multiple windows in to it and it tells me the most efficient way to cut it and the best roll size to use i.e. 36" or 48" or 60" or 72" of combination of roll sizes. I used a software called FastCut a few years ago and it came fairly close. It would nest the film sizes in the most efficient way to cut but made no allowance for different size rolls. Any help in finding a software to do what I am looking to achieve would be greatly appreciated

Amazon pushes the Vevor brand plotter even if you type in searches for other brands specifically. I've talked with software companies who say that their software can be used on this brand. Has anyone had any luck with this brand?

I first must say I planned to put this under the plotter section but there was no general topic tab. Anyways, I plan to purchase a new tint plotter and software since everything I have done in the past has been hand cutting but I want to speed up the process a little when and where it is needed. My questions is, who is leading the market right now as far as software/plotter packages? I currently use suntek window film, mainly carbon series and have been looking really hard into the tint-tek system. any suggestions? Thank you!
