New information from my Tesla tech. The burned defroster on some model 3 were because of a defective batch of backglass. Tesla is aware of the issue. Maybe it will be warranted.

Warning....Warning... Tesla have issue a warning to some window film manufacturers. This was issue to 3M.....The computer is located below the A-Pillar and will get damage if liquid touch the pcu. They have state that it cost them over 10k to replace for some Tesla owner. So be careful guys.... It is a design flaw that they will be changing due to this. We have alway took the extra precautions when doing windshield and we have done 4 Model 3 and have been lucky....cross my finger.

I never have issues with comebacks for roll ups, but I've had 3 Tesla model 3's come back for peeling tint at the lower front of each rear door. Is there an issue I'm not aware of?

Did another model 3 over the weekend, and one of the doors, the window remains all the way up even with the latch open as if the door is open, preventing me from shutting the door vs how it should be down slightly and roll back up the last little bit upon shutting the door. If I roll the window down, I can then shut the door, then roll the window up. Once you have the door shut and window rolled up, if you go to open the door from inside or out, when you grab the handle or button the window rolls down the little bit for the door to open but then the window goes right back up to fully closed. Very strange. Anyone have any ideas?

Mods move this if this aint the right spot. Hoping for more exposure. Tesla Model Y front windshield rear view mirror removal. Some models come with twist off some have a t20 bolt. Well Tesla impeccable quality control sometimes they put too much blue locktite. This bolt snapped off. The assembly is not sold separately and its one whole camera assembly that’s probably gonna require calibration. Cha ching. If it feels too tight dont take it off and decline the job or if you’re extra frisky you can probably take a soldering iron to heat up the bolt to lessen the locktite. There’s 6 T bolts that you can take the bracket off and reverse drill the bolt out which is what I did…

Front door latches must be tricked to have front windows bump up. 1/4 windows easy. Car doors act funny and wont close automatically when latches are popped back to normal closing position. Car has to be reset to get doors working properly again.

We had our first Tesla Model 3 in and it was not as difficult as it looks, We spent 6 hours from start to finish and that included tinting all the windows including the full rear screen and the second part to the roof, i have attached a couple before and after pictures. What do you charge for this kind of work?

We tinted a tesla model 3 and locked the automatic windows and then scratched the top chrome window trim with the window. Has this happened to anyone else? Any place to re order just that trim?

We recently tinted a Tesla Model 3, full back windshield in 1 piece, and the customer noticed some small white dots or holes start to emerge throughout the top middle portion of the back glass. They brought it back so we could take a look, and it appears to be in the glass. The tint film appears to be fine. I've attached a photo. Anyone else ever see anything like this? Appreciate any feedback.

I looked through this section before posting in the ask a pro section because I only saw 2 total threads in this section, and the last comment on the Tesla Model S thread was in 2015. If anyone paying attention to this section has special knowledge of Tesla tinting, I'd appreciate it if you could provide any information I should be considering when selecting a film for my car. I can then look for a reputable installer that uses that film and follows recommended procedures. Thanks in advance.

I have a guy bringing in a brand new Tesla Model S and he's wanting the windows tinted. Judging by how it looks. Doesn't seem too hard the back glass looks relatively flat. I searched the automotive make forum and it's not even there lol. So if anyone has any info on this lmk. Thanks
