   Hi guys. Im still having issues with my patterns not lining up quite correctly. I have spoken with FVD and they say its probably a resolution issue with the plotter. They went in and changed the X and Y axis numbers. What my question to you guys is what are your X and Y axis set at? I believe mine was on 40 and 40 and they changed it to 45 and 45. I have seen videos of folks using FVD and there patterns are coming out dead nuts. But mine just is not lining up with the top of the window to give me that micro edge. Ive actually started going in and selecting the long cut and then hand trimming the top to make up for it. But being I spent all this money on this system I woul…

   Hi guys and gals. So I just got the new computer cut system in the shop (Film Vinyl Designs). Went from all hand cut to being computer cut. WOW!! Major learning curve. My question is this. A lot of my patterns the tops do not line up. AT ALL!!!! The top edges are way off. Im talking like all the way to the top in the center of the window and about and 1/8th to a 1/4 inch gap towards the corners. Have you guys had this trouble? Im having most of my issues with the fords. 250's and 150's to be exact. Was completely shocked to spend this amount of money and have to hand cut all of the tops.    So here is the deal... Computercut is what we have used since 2007. I have my own designs saved to their server. I LOVE the program. State of the art IMO but I was just informed by Mike Choe(Bekeart rep - who is a nice guy but clueless about window film) that as a result of a management decision they are raising my access fees to double what I have been paying all because I don't but their crappy film that doesn't stick to the dots! Needless to say I am VERY angry with these idiots! So the question that I need answered is - How accurate and good is Film Designs software?    Ordered a plotter and computer. They had me up and running in 10 minutes. Couldn't believe it. I hate computers. But mark really helped me out today. Highly recommend film designs !!!!!!

   I just want give a shot out to the guys at FVD. Brett and Mark both will do what ever they can to help with anything they can, even if it does not directly fall into their liability. Story: My lap to the runs my plotter died. Took it the the local computer guy to be repaired. It needed a new hard drive. I had it repaired, and called FVD to have my program re installed. For some reason no programs would load to the computer. Brett spent a lot of time remotley trying to resolve the problem. Remember this is not his issue, but he did all he could just to try and help me as I am pretty computer dumb. The computer is old and I just decided to bag it and get another lap…

   I want to give a public thanks to these guys! I had a technical issue with my virus software conflicting with my updates and they took the time to fix it for me. Goodness knows they did not have to since it was my issue and not theirs! AWESOME customer service! Love these guys!

   Do You Use Short Patterns And If So, Do You Micro Edge

   Looking into the system. Seems to have a lot of quality features. One thing I have a question about is the short patterns. The way the manufacturer describes it, almost all of the southern shops use the shorts and northern guys use the longs. The way I understand it, the short patterns bring the bottom edge to dead even with the gasket if you micro edge. They say if you get it down and hit it with a little heat that it's good to go. And again, this is supposed to be typical down in TX, FL, AL, etc. It seems a little close to me. Maybe I'm interpreting their description wrong?    I must say film designs 4.0 imo is the nicest & highest quality cutting software I've ever used to this day & I've used a few. The tools & features are incredible, couldn't ask for more. Oh & the patterns ....nice product

    hey FVD users, I have loaded FilmDesigns finally ! Im trying to load drivers for Graphtec fc7000-100 but the only drivers they have are for Roland plotters anyone know how to do this?
